I highly recommend Gary Paul Mechanical. We purchased a home recently and discovered that the existing two zone HVAC systems were unusable. Gary sent his team out right away and they came up with a viable and affordable solution. He was the third company we brought in - the first did not want to tackle the job and the proposal from the second was super expensive and would have been very disruptive and impacted our usable basement space. Gary and his team completed the job quickly and went above and beyond accommodating all of our needs. The entire crew was professional and did great work.

It’s an honor to have met Gary and Kevin. They installed a 5 unit mini split system so fast with explanation on all the parts and process. Very professional and very kind, it felt like friends were at my house helping me out. I will recommend them to everyone I know and use them for anything I need in the future. I have 2 kids under 3 years old so it mattered to me that it was quick and done well. They were so detailed down to the wiring being aesthetically pleasing which is a satisfaction I didn’t know I needed until I saw it myself. That’s professionalism at its finest.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions come up, and we’re here to help. See some of the most common questions we’ve received at Gary Paul Mechanical. Have another question? Give us a call.

What can I do to lower my energy bills?
  • Install a programmable thermostat so you don’t waste air conditioning or heat while you’re not at home.
  • Switch your incandescent light bulbs to more energy efficient light bulbs like compact fluorescents (CFLs) or LEDs.
  • Install ceiling fans and, when you can, use them instead of your air conditioning to cool you down.
  • Unplug any appliance that you’re not using. While it may not be turned on, it will still use power from your electrical outlet.
  • Make sure your windows and doors are sealed properly so that they don’t let air in and make your HVAC system work harder.
The simple answer to this question is dust and dirt. As your furnace sits idle over the warmer months, dust and airborne dirt particles settle on its elements. When the weather cools and you ignite your furnace for the first time, the dust burns and creates the unpleasant odor you are experiencing. Luckily, you can avoid this situation by contacting trusted HVAC contractors who can clean and inspect your system before winter use.
To keep your HVAC system running in tip-top shape, we recommend a maintenance appointment twice a year (once for heat, once for air conditioning). This way, a technician can check your filters, coils, wiring, housing, motor, and more to make sure you’re getting the most out of your system.
While HVAC problems often demand assistance from a professional, there are several simple issues that homeowners can diagnose on their own. Before you call up a local HVAC company, complete the following troubleshooting steps:
  1. Check Your Thermostat Settings – Incorrect thermostat settings can have a big influence on the performance of your HVAC system. So, if you notice that your heating or cooling equipment isn’t working as effectively as it usually does, be sure to take a look at your thermostat first.
  2. Clean Your Air Filters – Be sure to change your air filters frequently, as clean filters can help with air circulation and speed up cooling or heating of the home.
  3. Check Your Home’s Sealing – Poor sealing around windows and doors allows cold or warm air to escape your home. Addressing these issues can improve airflow and help your HVAC system work more efficiently.
  4. Inspect Your Pilot Light and Electrical Components – If you’re having trouble starting your HVAC system, there’s likely a problem with the pilot light or another electrical component. However, you’ll need a professional to replace these parts if necessary.

Don’t worry! Whether your problem happens at three in the morning or on the 4th of July, our HVAC service experts are available to get your system back up and running. Call us any time.

If your HVAC system requires constant repairs, is 15 years or older, or can’t heat or cool your home properly, we recommend you replace it. When an HVAC system ages, it doesn’t operate as efficiently and could actually end up costing you more money than it should.

To answer that, you’ll need to request an appointment with one of our HVAC service experts. We’ll come to your home and evaluate its size, heating and cooling needs, environment, and the work we’ll need to do. Then, we can recommend the best system for you and install it quickly.

Many factors affect the general lifespan of a heating or air conditioning system. Of course, the more you keep up on HVAC maintenance, the more likely your system is to achieve its maximum lifespan. The make and model of your equipment can also determine how long it will last. Generally speaking, a well-maintained HVAC system can be expected to remain effective for about 15 to 20 years.
When looking for the perfect company, ask your friends and family members for recommendations. Then, make sure the company has the proper license and insurance. After that, get a written estimate for the work they’re going to do (a good company should have no problem giving you a written estimate).
